Wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun. Since the beginning of the June, we have already knocked out over a half-a-dozen applications. It's hard for me to choose a favorite, as there is such variety, and many of you submitted great application ideas. If I had to pick a favorite, I think I would pick Mobile FX, since it is just fun.

What's your favorite?

Minutes to Midnight Countdown Bluetooth Manager GPS Compass Mileage Tracker

Look at the variety: a countdown time, a Bluetooth control panel type application, a GPS application, and a work utility.

Mobile Capture Pocket PasswordGen Mobile FX What will be next?

Again, we get around as far as application topics: screen shot utility, password generator, a sound FX app, and who know's what we'll do next...

Looking forward to this week's applications? Let's see where we'll go next.

Can you list somewhere the tools you are using for development?
Are you using MS Visual Suite?

Also, how about something to find duplicate files, based file size and even the content? Able to search specified directories or trees or entire memory cards!

Hi Chris,

First of all, I think this 30 days of .NET is a great idea! Personally I would like to see examples that are specific to Windows Mobile devices and the .NET Compact framework. That's why I especially like the Bluetooth and GPS compass examples. PasswordGen is nice, but is not really different between the full and the compact framework. But that's just my personal opinion :).

Maybe an idea for another article is something like a Connection Manager. Detecting different kind of connections (ActiveSync, GPRS, Wifi) and acting upon that. A common scenario is connecting to webservices. When I connect through GPRS I need an external url (http://server-1.mydomain.com), but when I switch to ActiveSync I can use an internal url (http://server-1).

Another idea is an application that interfaces with Pocket Outlook, or intercepting phonecalls, emails, text messages.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Jeffry,

I'm sure we'll get to some Pocket Outlook, phone, sms, e-mail, etc. samples as you've requested. If you'd like I have a sample already put together about intercepting phone calls here:

Jeff,

This is a great effort. Inspite of your busy schedule you are taking time to provide these articles and applications is commendable. Mobile Fx is really good concept but I think from usage point of view I vote GPS Compass. Looking forward to see more application.

with regards,
Manjunath
